Sesame Soy Pork Bowl
This recipe was recommended by a friend, where he got it from Hello Fresh. It's a savory sweet Asian-style rice bowl.
Ingredients
- 1 cup - uncooked rice
- 1 lb - ground pork
- 4 tbs - mayo
- 2 tbs - Sriracha
- garlic powder
- sesame oil
- 2 - large carrots, sliced
- 1/3 cup - teriyaki
- 1/3 cup - sesame dressing
- fried onion
- cilantro
- lime
- 1 tb - garlic in chili oil (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha, dash of garlic powder, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Set aside.
- Cook rice as directed, preferably in a rice cooker. Keep covered off heat until ready to serve.
- While rice cooks, quarter lime. Roughly chop cilantro.
- Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add pork and a big pinch of salt. Cook, breaking up meat into pieces, until browned.
- Stir in carrots, sesame dressing, teriyaki, and garlic in chili oil.
- Cook until carrots are softened, pork is cooked through, and sauce is thickened. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
- Divide rice between bowls; top with pork mixture and any remaining sauce from pan. Drizzle with Sriracha mayo. Sprinkle with crispy fried onions and cilantro.
- Serve with lime wedges on the side.
